Future cities, neon nights
and old memories.
Two cities, fresh perspectives and a return to familiar places. I am looking for modern China, life on the streets and the moments in between.
THE JOURNEY
From modern technology in Shenzhen to familiar streets in Hong Kong – with my camera and time for unexpected discoveries.
Robots, modern architecture and colourful lights: I want to experience the future city in everyday life, with older neighbourhoods and small street scenes along the way.
Skylines, markets, temples and islands. I will return to familiar places, discover new photo locations and follow the rhythm of the city.

NOTES FROM THE JOURNEY
Short stories from the preparations and the journey. Latest entries first.
In December, I am heading to Shenzhen and Hong Kong. Two cities that bring together my enthusiasm for technology and photography.
In Shenzhen, I want to experience modern architecture, robots and the colourful city lights after dark. Hong Kong will also be a reunion: with familiar streets, the skyline and places where I took photographs years ago.
I want to recreate some of those photographs – from as close to the original viewpoint as possible. Under the theme “Then and now”, I am curious to see what has changed.
The first ideas are taking shape, but I want to leave room in the itinerary for exploring, photography and spontaneous detours. Here in the diary, I will share the preparations and, later, my experiences along the way.
PHOTOS & VIDEOS
Until the new photographs are ready, explore my earlier impressions of Hong Kong. Photos and videos from this journey will follow later.
